The former backing singer, for Omar and Rhian Benson, has released a mini mixtape entitled ‘Ianna Harvey Goes Street’, which is available for free download. The three-track mixtape consists for two covers , ‘Don’t Go’ by Wretch 32 and Josh Kumra and ‘Mirrors’ by Lil Wayne and Bruno Mars, and also a remix to her debut street-track, 'Save You '.
Ianna’s passion for music was apparent from an early age and her parents enrolled her into a performing arts school at the age of five, as an extra curricular activity. Ianna enjoyed performing and showed a real interest in music, more specifically singing. At the age of 11,the young budding singer joined ‘Turbelles Performing Arts School’ where it became clear to everyone around that she had began to develop a genuine and rare talent.
Aged 16 Ianna joined the ʻUrban Development Vocal Collectiveʼ in order to strengthen her voice, further developing and gaining experience in performing and recording. It was in the Summer of 2010, when Ianna was spotted at the open mic session at ‘I Luv Live’, by her current manager Chris Patrick, that the Chingford resident decided to kick her solo singing career into gear.
Now 2012, the Business and Marketing student is busy penning tracks with plans to release an EP later this year. Drawing from her musical influences Amy Winehouse, Toni Braxton, Alexis Jordan and Adele, to name a few, expect Ianna Harvey’s sound to be soulful with a twist of Pop.
