After 6 months of entry process, the finalists have been selected by our esteemed judging panel which includes the likes of UB40 Legend Ali Campbell, US R&B superstar Montell Jordan and Skunk Anansie lead singer, Skin. Over 1000 entries have been whittled down to a succinct, high calibre ten in each category via our scoring system and now face the public vote to determine our winners.
Voting is now live to the public via the official St Helier Music Crowns website - www.musiccrowns.co.uk and official Facebook fan pages. Voting takes place throughout the month of August, ending August 31st at midnight.
Each winner will take home the crown trophy and secure a 1 year management/PR contract, an official website, record label exposure and a live awards presentation/performance at Cargo, London on Monday October 11th, 2010.
In May 2010 Music Crowns teamed up with trendy cider brand St Helier to create a mutually beneficial partnership based on concept/product growth and amalgamation.
Chris Mitchell, Co-Founder of the Music Crowns concept was stunned at the standard of this year's contestants: "The calibre of entrants we have had in our inaugural year is amazingly high, it was an extremely tough decision for our judging committee who streamlined hundreds of entries to reach the final 10 verdicts.”
Co-Founder Adrian Smith adds: “St Helier Music Crowns has become one of the largest unsigned act competitions in the UK and Ireland over the past 8 months, a feat that we are very proud of, we offer a platform for unsigned talent to submit their original music and be evaluated by some of the most respected names in the industry.”
St Helier Music Crowns 2011 will begin the intake of new artists in January next year and promises to be an enhanced and evolved format with a 'live' performance within the voting stage a prospect.
